SHADES OF NIGHT-Fluctuation-45-DEADLY MONSTER & HOLY GRAIL '66 TEXAS Garage-Punk
THE SHADES OF NIGHT-45-“Fluctuation” b/w “Such A Long Time”-Alamo Audio Records #45-111-DEADLY MONSTER & HOLY GRAIL 1966 San Antonio TEXAS Garage-Punk. No need to describe. MASTERPIECE. As heard on TEXAS FLASHBACKS.

Condition: Record is VG+ or slightly better; hard to describe—actually no wear from playing—but has some light surface/paper scuffs visible under a spotlight at certain angles; and like a very light storage film (in spots) that you can not see under normal light or daylight-just under a bright spotlight at certain angles—record is literally almost unplayed—I’d even say IT LOOKS close to but not quite MINT-Minus if you look at it in NORMAL light or just the way you’d see the record—but under the microscopic spotlight at certain angles you can see the little things I mentioned. Plays great—but has some static like background noise on both sides-not noticeable on the louder “Fluctuation” side-which you can hear on the deadwax in particular—and noticeable throughout on the ballad-quiet B side—this is due to the pressing-NOT condition—I have HEARD 3 copies of this record—and they all sounded like this—it’s on REAL vinyl-not that hard vinyl—I AM CRANKING “Fluctuation” WITH A HIGH POWERED GRAPHIC EQ as I write this and it sounds POWERHOUSE—any minimal background noise is overall obliterated by the high volume content—you CAN notice it on the turnarounds where only the bass and drums build before the guitars kick in-but not particularly annoying—very ‘background’ for the most part—the cymbals actually cover any of this MOST of the track-I have other records on this same label (FUGITIVES “Louie Go Home” for instance) and despite being close to MINT Minus it has this same kind of staticky-background noise at times—in any case —VERY NICE COPY. AND EXTREMELY SCARCE as you know. Only 2 have shown up over the past 10 years or so on Ebay-last time was in 2011.

Label clean both sides
