Up for auction is an original 47 W. 63rd St. label deep groove mono pressing of the John Coltrane 'Blue Train' LP on Blue Note Records BLP 1577. The other musicians include Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller, Kenny Drew, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones.
Record info:
Strong VG+, very close to NM with a few minor scuffs and minor surface noise. It plays and sounds great! Cover info:
Solid VG with solid seams except for a 3" seam split on bottom middle that is not really that visible, but is there nonetheless. The cover has some creasing on two corners. Overall it is a very clean cover. This appears to be a later cover with Blue Note Records Inc. on bottom in the address. However the record IS the first press. I do have an original cover with no Inc. on the bottom that has heavy water damage and moderate wear (I'd grade it Fair at best) if for some reason the winner would like to swap for that cover after they have won the auction. It will be the winner's choice.
Pressing info:
Original 47 W. 63rd address, no "R" on label, deep groove mono press, with RVG initials and Ear logo on both sides in the dead wax area.
Buy with confidence. I grade conservatively. I’ve been selling vinyl since 1976. All records are cleaned with a VPI professional record cleaner and are shipped with records outside the covers to avoid seam damage.
Shipping for US customers is $4 for media mail or $12 for Priority mail. For high value items I would recommend adding insurance.
International shipping will be $20. I reserve the right to request registered or courier mail for high value items and to some countries (Italy, Brazil, Russia) due to the unreliability of their postal services.
