I will be listing three Nirvana test pressings today. They've been with me since their original issue, but haven't been out of their box in at least a decade. Which means it's time somebody else appreciated them.
I was, for a time, a music journalist in Seattle. Each of these test pressings was given to me by the owners of Sub Pop. I have a rough idea what they're worth, and if this auction doesn't prove out I'll put them back in the box and wait.
This third test pressing is SP 23, featuring the Nirvana's debut "Love Buzz" b/w "Big Cheese." I am told there are ten of these extant.
The runout groove just has the matrix number, K-Disc, and SP's matrix on it on the A-side. On the b-side it reads, "WHY DON'T YOU TRADE THOSE GUITARS FOR SINGLES?" if I've read it correctly.
I have place a substantial but not, I hope, unreasonable reserve on this item.
I have also checked "no international shipping" by way of protecting myself. I'll ship abroad, but not everywhere, so please check with me before bidding. If you want expedited shipping, we can do that, I'll have to get it priced and sort it out at check-out with the winning bidder.
